We are excited to announce that MZS will be participating in a mission trip again this year . As we did in 2019 we will be partnering with Ocoee Outreach in Cleveland TN.
Below are the details:
When: July 11th-16th, 2021
Where: Cleveland TN
What is It? Ocoee Outreach is a community ministry that provides free home repair to low-income home owners living in Southeast Tennessee. Through the restoration of houses, we believe we can accomplish the greater restoration of hearts and homes now and for eternity. Mission Teams also use ministry tools such as Day Camps (BYBCs, VBS, Sports Clinics) to reach children & teens, Evangelistic Block Parties to reach communities, Canvassing/Prayer Walking to reach neighborhoods, Nursing Home Ministry to reach seniors & more! Our desire is to spread the love and good news of Jesus Christ to all we cross paths with. AS with all things during the COVID 19 pandemic approproate measure will be taken to insure all COVID guidelines and protocols.
Ocoee Outreach is a missions ministry of the CrossNet Baptist Network working in conjunction with the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board & the North American Mission Board.
Accommodations: we will be staying in a local hotel (think Holiday Inn) for 5 nights.
Meals: Breakfast will be in the hotel, Lunches will be Chic Fil A, Dominoes, and sandwiches, dinners will be homemade meals served by local churches. Students will need money for three meals on the road as we travel.
What we will do: During this week we will serve on carpentry projects and house painting for local residents, children’s ministry.
Cost: $295 but…
we will have fundraising opportunities such as serving at community events and selling t-shirts to help students to reduce this cost. So, it is conceivable that a student could raise enough funds to cover the entire amount. For example, a student that sells 25 t-shirts will earn $250 towards the cost of their trip. Additionally, we will make fundraising letters available so students can send to friends and relatives who want to contribute to their trip.
NOTE: Mount Zion Students never wants money to keep a student from an event or activity. We have generous people here that are willing to help scholarship students and offer them to families with multiple kids. Please reach out to Pastor Donnie if a scholarship would help your student participate. God can make it happen!

There will be 3 planning and prep meetings. Participants will be required to attend all three meetings with limited exceptions. Dates will be announced.
